Toronto, Canada – GAO Embedded is offering its high voltage servomotor driver for high performance digital motor control (DMC) systems. It is based on Texas Instruments’ TMS320F2812 DSP and is intended for use as a packing mechanism, USP, variable frequency control and electrical control.

This high voltage servomotor driver, model MCK2812HV, is part of a reliable and fast servomotor driver solution that consists of three parts including an EVM2812 board (DSP part), an HVD and an IB2812 (interface part). It uses an IPM module to protect the board from over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage and over-heating. It provides an on-board 60 W rebounding power switch to supply large current for a safe system and an on-board filter to minimize EMI interference based on the FCC-15 standard.

This practical HV servomotor driver has a high speed optocoupler for electrical isolation and provides 8 channels of isolated output. When operating along with GAO’s EVM2812 board, it can directly connect with DC brush/brushless servomotor, AC asynchronous motors, AC permanent-magnet synchronous servomotors and stepper motors to form a digital servo motion control system.

The high performance servomotor driver offers a Hall Effect current sensor to ensure the accuracy and isolation of current sampling and has 8 channels of isolated output to meet basic requirements for power supply. It also provides a PWM frequency of up to 20 kHz and uses a non-inductive absorbing capacitor to eliminate surges and spikes caused by DV/DT effectively protecting IPM.

This high voltage servomotor driver belongs to GAO’s family of TI DSP Evaluation Board. A similar product in this line is MCK2812 LV (Low Voltage) Servomotor Driver. This line also includes 2812EVM-II Evaluation Board specially optimized for motor driving and control systems, and TI DSP Evaluation Boards which avoid electro-magnetic interference (EMI) to the computing unit by using an independent power supply for A/D sampling. This line of products serves the needs of electronic professionals internationally.
